Journal Entry 9-12-07

In an effort to remember all of the details of our trip to Ethiopia, Michael journaled our experiences starting with the day of our departure. The next few blogs will include his journal entries and corresponding photos.

Thanks Michael for being the family historian during our travels!!!

Wednesday, Sept 12th –

Well the big day has finally arrived to leave our house to start our jouney to get Mehandis! Michele and I both went to work to tie up loose ends. It was a really busy day for me, training Kelly on new things and going over current projects. We went to lunch at Venturi’s and had a good afternoon.

I left work at 5PM and Michele was already home finishing packing. She did a lot of good work the past couple of days, so the rest of the packing went quickly. We were out of the house by 6PM and hit no traffic on the way down to Illinois! On the way down, we talked to Joanna and Ryan York on the phone.

We met Michele’s parents out for dinner at the View Restaurant in Lisle, IL. They had just purchased a condo downtown Chicago, so they told us all about their recent garage sale to get ready for the move. We had a good dinner together and then continued the conversation at their home. We went to bed around 11PM.
